Voters who are unable to make it to the polls on Election Day are able to vote an absentee ballot. All eligible and registered voters may request an absentee ballot without providing a reason. Your request for an absentee ballot must be in writing and can be submitted to your city or township clerk. Requests must b e received by your clerk no later than 5pm the Friday before the Election.

After receiving your absentee ballot, you have until 8pm on Election Day to complete and return the ballot to your clerk's office.
If an emergency prevents you from reaching the polls on Election Day, you may request an emergency absent voter ballot. Request for emergency ballots must be submitted after the deadling for regular absent voter ballots has passed but before 4pm on Election Day. Please contact your local clerk for more information on emergency absent voter ballots.
