The format of the “debate” will include opening and closing statements of up to 2 minutes by the candidates, and questions from the attendees. Each candidate will have 1 1/2 minutes to respond, and at the discretion of the moderator, another minute for follow-up. Questions will be written on cards distributed by the ushers and screened by a panel from the sponsoring groups to avoid personal attacks and duplication.

The event is co-sponsored by 8 non-partisan groups: the Rockland Chapter of AARP, Rockland Chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), the Rockland League of Women Voters (LWV), National Council of Jewish Women, Hadassah, JCC Rockland, Rockland Chapter of the Statewide Senior Action Council and the Nanuet Hebrew Center. All of these groups do not support Candidates or parties.
