North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham and Chatham Counties are holding a forum for the public to hear from the candidates for the NC General Assembly seeking to represent Orange, Durham and Chatham Counties.
Kicking off a month of activities on the NCCU campus to promote civic responsibility, the NCCU Student Government Association and the NCCU Institute for Civic Engagement and Social Change are co-sponsoring the forum with the League.
The forum will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 6 p.m., in the H.M. Michaux Jr. School of Education Building auditorium at NCCU, 712 Cecil Street, Durham, NC 27707. All candidates have been invited to speak for five minutes. A light reception will follow the forum, and members of the League of Women Voters will register voters and provide information about voting rights. The forum is free and open to the public.
