Event Description: 

“The Informed Voter” is an educational forum that will focus on the ballot issue on sexual orientation and gender identity. Dan Wichmer, city attorney for the City of Springfield, will explain the ballot language, what will happen if the issue is approved and what will happen if it is repealed. The second part of the forum, “Compare and Contrast,” will feature Mayor Shelley Welsch of University City who will share how a similar ordinance is working there. University City is a first ring suburb of the City of St. Louis. The program is designed to provide answers to basic voter questions. It is co-sponsored by the MSU Center for Civic Engagement.
