Event Description: 

League of Women Voters of Kansas City, Jackson, Clay, and Platte Counties is hosting a presentation by Dr. Greg Vonnahme about Amendment 1, which is is one of seven ballot measures appearing on the November ballot. Voters will have an opportunity to question Dr. Vonnahme about Amendment 1 which contains provisions relating to redistricting, lowering campaign contribution limits and stopping legislative fundraising on state property, eliminating lobbyist gifts larger than $5, requiring more transparency by state government, and a two-year waiting period before a legislator may become a lobbyist.

Dr. Vonnahme is an Associate Professor of Political Science at UMKC with expertise in American politics and specializations in elections, state politics, and policy. He received his Ph.D. from Rice University.
